Financial literacy classes offered

The Department of Human Services and the OSU Extension Office in St. Helens is continuing to offer a series of 90-minute workshops on various financial literacy topics.

Past classes include such topics as using a checking and debit account successfully; understanding credit and loan services; making your credit report work for you; protection from identity theft; bankruptcy options and others.

No child care will be available. Fun door prizes will be given in each class. For more information call Lillie Anderson at OSU Extension Service, 503-397-3462 or Dawn Thompson at DHS at 503-366-8387.

New participants are encouraged to join at any session.

Upcoming classes are:

April 16 – Financial recovery: What you can do when you are financially unstable. Is bankruptcy your only option?

April 23 – Your own home and renter rights: steps to home ownership and renter laws.
