St. Helens schedules spring burn period

Residents of St. Helens may burn yard debris in city limits from Saturday May 7th through Sunday May 22nd.

 The City of St. Helens allows open backyard burning of yard debris only during two designated open burn periods each year - one in the spring and one fall. during the burn periods, residents may burn yard debris and tree trimmings such as branches, leaves, and untreated wood products. Burning of grass, garbage, cardboard or plastics is strictly prohibited.

 Residents may obtain a free burn permit from Columbia River Fire and Rescue. One permit is good for one year. Residents need only call the Columbia River Fire and Rescue hotline for confirmation of open burn on the day they wish to have a fire: 503.397.4800.

 Free permits can be obtained at the following locations by providing name, address and phone number:

Columbia River Fire and Rescue: 270 Columbia Blvd. in St. Helens

St. Helens Station: 105 S. 12th Street in St. Helens

Fairgrounds Station: 58798 Saulsler Rd. in St. Helens

Rainier Station: 211 West Second Street in Rainier
