Columbia County school & snow closures UPDATED

SCHOOLS

St. Helens SD — Parent conferences after 4 p.m. are cancelled. All middle and high school practices and activities are cancelled.

Scappoose SD — The district is closed Tuesday. Parent conferences are cancelled.

• Rainier SD — The district is closed Tuesday. The district closed early Monday. Parent conferences scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are cancelled, along with other activities.

• Clatskanie SD — The district is closed Tuesday. The district, which ran 2 hours late Monday with no AM kindergarten, closed early Monday. Parent conferences scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are cancelled.

• Vernonia SD — The district is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. It was also closed Monday.

• The NW Regional ESD is closed Tuesday.

NOTE: There is no scheduled school this week in the St. Helens and Scappoose school districts because of parents conferences.

OTHER

• Hwy 30 is icy and slick. Carrying chains or traction devices is required (use is not).

• Chains are required on Hwy 30 west of Clatskanie, over the Coast Range.

• Hwy 47 from Clatskanie to Mist: Carrying chains or traction devices is required (use is not, yet).

• The Columbia County Board of Commissioners' meeting on Wednesday was cancelled. The commissioners will next meet on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.

• The Highway 30 traffic safety working group meeting, originally set for Nov. 22, has been cancelled. It is rescheduled for Dec. 6.
