Columbia County Tourism Initiative, a committee representing public and private tourism related entities throughout Columbia County, has partnered with Travel Oregon to promote their Bike Friendly Business Program.

This program helps tourism-related businesses understand the importance of Oregon’s growing bicycle tourism industry; provide tips and tools for how businesses can be Bike Friendly, and highlights businesses who are commit to enhancing the Oregon biking experience for visitors.

Bicycle related tourism contributes an average of $400 million into Oregon’s economy on an annual basis and will help to grow tourism in Columbia County.

The Tourism Initiative is looking to augment the number of Columbia County Bike Friendly Businesses. The Travel Oregon program helps local businesses by providing special recognition thru Travel Oregon and Ride Oregon marketing channels.

Additional tools include materials to educate about the importance of Biking Tourism and ways businesses can become more Bike Friendly. Businesses who participate in the program will be highlighted as organizations that enhance the experience for bicycling visitors. The program is a part of the effort to increase tourism in communities across Columbia County.
