Hunter Wetherbee

St. Helens High School is pleased to announce Hunter Wetherbee is the April Elks Teen of the Month.

According to a release from the Elks, Hunter is described as a very nice young man who leads by example and cares about his school and the students at our school.

“I am very honored to be selected for the Elk Teen of the Month,” he said.

The Elks release also states that Hunter as a good student who works hard and does a very nice job of participating in class discussions as well as working with other students on projects. Other students said they find Hunter to be someone who is kind and welcoming as well as someone you want in your group when you do group work because he expects everyone to participate and do their best.

Hunter has been involved in basketball all four years of high school, winning multiple awards, such as defensive player of the year twice, as well as the receiving the Coaches Award. This year As a first-year member of the golf team, Hunter said he has had a great year learning the game. Hunter took this as a challenge emerging from a beginner to a varsity player.

Hunter said he believes his best trait is that he learns things easily and quickly. His hobbies are basketball, golf, video games and going to the gym and working out.

Hunter also thanked his mother and father for their support. He says he could not be where he is today without them in his corner.
