On Friday night, April 6, another successful Empty Bowls event was held raising over $4,000 (creating over 12,000 meals) to help fight hunger in Columbia County, a press release from Columbia Pacific Food Bank.
“Thank you to Bertucci’s, Dockside, IGA Market Fresh, Klondike, Yankton Country Store and Wild Currant for donating soup,” the release said.
“Sunshine Pizza provided the bread and Dutch Brothers donated Coffee and Hot Chocolate.”
Fast Lube and Oil, St. Helens Community Credit Union and County Commissioner Henry Heimuller sponsored the event. Pat Brame made the bowls and the Stone River Band provided entertainment while KOHI did a live broadcast.
“A huge thank you to the St. Helens Middle School students who helped set-up, decorate, serve and clean up at the event,” the release said. “And finally, thank you to community members for attending and making this event a success.”
