A house fire in Warren causes $100,000 of damage and occupants to arrange temporary housing.
At 1 a.m. on Friday, June 29, St. Helens Firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 57000 block of Becky Lane in Warren.
According to Columbia River Fire & Rescue (CRFR), firefighters arrived to find a shed, a plastic RV cover and the house on fire. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire in the shed next to the house and the side of the house. The fire also extended into the attic space of the building, according to CRFR.
CRFR stated firefighters had to cut several holes in the roof to vent the fire and make access to extinguish the flames. The fire was kept out of the living areas with some smoke and water damage. The fire is believed to have started in a shed next to the home, according to CRFR.
The exact cause of the fire is undetermined. No one was hurt.
Damages are approximately $100,000 to the building and contents. The occupants are making arrangements with their insurance company for temporary housing.
