St. Helens Police Department

Feb. 25 - At 1:49 a.m. Angela Hemsley, 46, of St. Helens, was arrested for outstanding warrants and unlawful possession of methamphetamine on Highway 30 near Gable Road.

Feb. 25 – Police arrested Neil McQueen, 59, of St. Helens, at 7:47 a.m. for driving while suspended in the 140 block of Halsey Street.

Feb. 28 - Cooper Sprague, 24, of St. Helens, was arrested for harassment following a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Cowlitz Street.

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office

Feb. 26 – Criminal mischief was reported in the 57000 block of Old Portland Road at 10:34 a.m.

Feb. 26 – At 11:25 a.m. fraud activity was reported in the 71000 block of Beaver Springs Road.

Feb. 26 – A vehicle was reported stolen in the 51000 block of southwest E M Watts Road at 1:11 p.m.

Feb. 26 – At 6:10 p.m. hazard was reported in the 75000 block of Price Road.

Feb. 27 – A domestic incident was reported in the 28000 block of Dike Road at 4:50 p.m.

Feb. 27 – At 8:37 p.m. theft was reported in the 57000 block of Pebble Creek Road.

Feb. 28 – An assault was reported at 1:17 p.m. in the 33000 block of Canaan Road.

Feb. 28 – A stolen vehicle was recovered by milepost 35.5 on Highway 30.

March 1 – At 1:59 p.m. fraud activity was reported in the 30000 block of Dutch Canyon Road.

March 1 – An assault that just occurred was reported in the 30000 block of Brownlee Road at 10:09 p.m.

March 1 – At 10:15 p.m. a domestic that just occurred was reported in the 58000 block of Morten Lane.

March 2 – An assault was reported in the 75000 block of Price Road at 5:15 a.m.  Another assault was reported at the same address at 10:01 a.m.

March 2 – At 3:04 p.m. fraud activity was reported in the 72000 block of Anderson Road.

March 2 – A disturbance was reported in the 2000 block of south 1st Street at 4:06 p.m.

March 2 – At 4:35 p.m. burglary was reported in the 70000 block of Walker Road.

March 2 – A domestic incident was reported in the 26000 block of Old Rainier Road at 9:25 p.m. 

March 2 – A traffic accident causing unknown injuries was reported in the 70000 block of Neer City Road at 9:53 p.m.

March 3 – At 9:05 a.m. a disturbance was reported in the 2000 block of south 1st Street. At 9:48 a.m. disturbance in progress was reported at the same address.  

March 3 – Threats were reported in the 75000 block of Heath Road at 10:05 a.m.

March 3 – At 10:38 a.m. burglary was reported in the 58000 block of Lindsay Lane.

March 3 – Theft was reported in the 26000 block of Old Rainier Road at 11:39 a.m.

March 3 – At 12:57 p.m. criminal mischief was reported in the 32000 block of Church Road.

March 3 – Theft was reported in the 32000 block of Danny Street at 12:59 p.m.

March 3 – At 4:24 p.m. harassment was reported in the 32000 block of James Street.

March 3 – A traffic accident causing unknown injuries was reported in the 28000 block of Old Rainier Road at 6:16 p.m.  

March 3 – At 7:46 p.m. a traffic accident causing unknown injuries was reported in the 57000 block of Old Portland Road.

March 3 – A noise complaint was reported on Swedetown Road and Alder Grove Road at 10:48 p.m.

March 4 – At 10:07 p.m. a disturbance in progress was reported in the 74000 block of Doan Road at 10:07 p.m.

Columbia River Fire & Rescue

Feb. 26 – At10:59 a.m. Rainier firefighters assisted Clatskanie Fire with a structure fire in the 700 block of Highway 47.

Feb. 27 - Rainier firefighters extinguished an illegal burn near the intersection of Holbrook Road and Fairview Road near Goble at 6:05 p.m.

March 2 – At 9:54 a.m. St. Helens and Fairgrounds Firefighters responded to a two-car crash near the intersection of Gable Road and Highway 30. A single patient was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 


March 2 - A single vehicle crash was reported on Highway 30 near the base of the Lewis & Clark Bridge at 1:38 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find a single vehicle crash into the rock wall with the occupant out of the vehicle. The vehicle had been on fire but was extinguished prior to arrival of firefighters. The vehicle occupants denied transport to the hospital. 


March 3 – At 4:47 p.m. St. Helens firefighters assisted a resident turning off the water to the home in the 100 block of North 8th Street in St. Helens. A broken water line was 
flooding the basement. 


March 3 - Rainier Firefighters responded to the 28000 block of Old Rainier Road at 6:15 p.m. for a car versus a deer. After hitting the deer the vehicle than hit the embankment along the roadway. The driver suffered only minor injuries and did not require transport to the hospital. 


March 3 – At 7:44 p.m. St. Helens firefighters responded to a single vehicle crash in the 57000 block of Old Portland Road. A single occupant was evaluated on scene by firefighters for injuries but denied transport to the hospital. 


Scappoose Police Department

Feb. 26 - Following a traffic stop on Columbia River Highway near northwest Manor Drive police arrested Bradley Perri, 29, for driving under the influence of intoxicants – alcohol. He was also cited for reckless driving and the vehicle was impounded from the scene.

Feb. 28 - Police responded to the Scappoose High School on a report of unlawful possession of marijuana. A male juvenile was referred to the Columbia County Juvenile Department.

Feb. 28 - Following an altercation in the 33000 block of northwest E J Smith Road police charged Robert Kaske, 49, for third-degree criminal mischief. Kaske was booked and lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

March 1 - Police conducted a warrant service in the 33000 block of southeast Olive Court. Cole Robison, 32, was arrested for two outstanding felony warrants. Robison was booked and lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

March 2 - Police arrested Jennifer Raymond, 30, in the 52000 block of Columbia River Highway for violation of release agreement, three outstanding felony warrants and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Raymond was booked and lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

March 2 - Police responded to the 51000 block of Columbia River Highway for a shoplifter in custody. Following an investigation police booked and lodged Jon Wilke, 57, for second-degree theft. 

March 2 - Police arrested Kae Klassen, 34, for an outstanding felony warrant out of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in the 52000 of Columbia River Highway. He was booked and lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

March 3 - Police arrested Paytton McKenzie, 26, in the 52000 block of northeast 3rd Street for two outstanding warrants out of the Clackamas County Circuit Court. McKenzie was booked and lodged in the Columbia County Jail.

Scappoose Fire District

March 4 – Scappoose High School reported odor of natural gas in entrance closest to gym at 1:26 p.m. Upon arrival, Scappoose Police were at scene and stated strong odor prior to firefighters arrival. Firefighters could hear gas flowing through system and slight chattering sound from one of the pressure regulators. Chattering stopped when flow volume/sound reduced. Firefighters could not feel any gas being released from the valve vents. Gas stopped flowing and no leaks were identified. Firefighters recommended building personnel to contact NW Natural about multiple odor episodes. He stated they have been out in the past due to odor but that they have not identified the source. While discussing, small odor of natural gas returned. Firefighters walked back to piping and could hear gas flowing again and chattering sound from regulator. Again, no gas was found to be leaking from any of the vents in the plumbing.

March 6 – At 7:51 a.m. a motor vehicle accident including three vehicles causing minor injuries was reported on highway 30 west of Scappoose Vernonia highway.

Rainier Police Department

Feb. 25 - A driver that was driving erratically was taken to be checked by medics.

Feb. 25 - Lillian Graver, 18, of Rainier, was taken into custody on charges of fourth-degree assault.

Feb. 28 - An officer responded to a hit and run accident on West C Street. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene. After an investigation, Kara Crowley, 43, of St. Helens, was taken into custody for failure to perform the duties of a driver.

CCSO Clatskanie Station

Feb. 26 – Theft in progress was reported in the 400 block of west Columbia River Highway at 4 p.m.

Feb. 27 – At 7:15 a.m. a subject in progress led to the arrest of Robert Sarson, 29, of Clatskanie, in the 300 block of west Columbia River Highway. Sarson was arrested for criminal trespass and theft.

Feb. 27 – A domestic in progress was reported at 6:22 p.m. at Diblee Beach.

Feb. 27 – Theft was reported in the 26000 block of Wonderly Road at 6:48 p.m.

Feb. 28 – At 6:10 p.m. theft was reported in the 200 block of southwest 3rd Street.

March 1 – Fraud activity was reported in the 24000 block of Mosier Road at 9:33 a.m.

March 2 – A follow up in the 170 block of north Nehalem Street led to the arrest of Angel Caldwell, 32, of Clatskanie, at 10:29 p.m. Caldwell was arrested on a warrant.

March 2 – A vehicle was reported stolen in the 23000 block of Spady Way at 10:38 p.m.

March 4 – At 11:46 a.m. criminal mischief was reported in the 20000 block of Lindberg Road.

March 4 – Endangering was reported at 4:14 p.m. in the 75000 block of Leloff Lane.

March 4 – At 7:12 p.m. littering was reported on Beaver Falls Road and Highway 30.

March 4 – A domestic in progress was reported in the 13000 block of Colvin Road at 9:34 p.m.
