A Reuters report published 4/4 questions Germany’s determination not to pay the 2% GDP minimum in support of NATO agreed upon in 2014.  They are going to stay at 1.25% until 2024.

Outrageous.  They’re the richest country in the EU.

It’s interesting to note that the Baltic States that got out from under the heavy hand of the Russian empire in the early 90’s are happily compliant on the 2% floor while Germany skates.

Adding further injury to NATO-American interests is the NordStream2 gas pipeline from Russia guaranteeing dependency and hard currency to the very empire NATO is built and maintained to defend against.

Crimea was no accident, Ukraine is rightfully nervous.

Since America spends 3.72% of GDP on defense with a focus on NATO security, perhaps Trump should put a 40% tariff on all German cars and components not built in America and put that towards our $616 billion-dollar defense budget.  The Chinese tariffs have worked and raised billions.

You think if these other countries started spending thier 2% GDP on NATO (started paying their fair share) Trump might just reduce our military spending since we spend more than the next top ten countries combined on military. Nah I think Trump would keep bitching and spend even more on military instead of those things that would move our country forward like education.
